We’ll be on Stand C1, opposite the Game Fair Ring, at this year’s Essex Young Farmers Show. Gates open at 9.30am on Sunday 17 May at Boyton Hall, Roxwell, and our team will be there all day to talk contracting, machinery hire, and careers in Essex farming.

If you’re planning your day, head straight for the Game Fair Ring side of the showground. We’re directly opposite, and you can’t miss the kit.

What we’re bringing to Stand C1

A working selection of our contracting and hire fleet, with the team on hand to walk you through specifications, working widths, and what each machine does best.

Storth 4,100 gallon Slurry Tanker with 12m Trailing Shoe. Our flagship tanker for slurry and digestate application, with flowmeter and ISOBUS connectivity.

Weaving GD Drill. Our trailed 4.8m direct drill for cereals, grass, cover crops and pulses, with the option to apply slug pellets or a companion crop from the second hopper.

Weaving LD Topsoiler. Our mounted 4m low-disturbance cultivator and drill, well suited to oilseed rape, environmental mixes and small seeds.

Techneat Multicast 400 (Avacast). The UTV-towed 12m applicator we use for Avadex, slug pellets, grass, cover crops, small seeds and environmental mixes.

Plus a few more pieces from our wider fleet. All of our contracting work is carried out with RTK guidance, which is the difference between a tidy job and a precise one, and we’re happy to talk through how that works in practice.

Come and talk contracting and machinery hire

We cover agricultural contracting and machinery hire right across Essex, and the show is a good chance to put faces to names. Whether you’re sizing up a job for later in the season, weighing up hire against contracting, or just curious about a particular machine, the team will be on the stand from 9.30am.

A few of the things people often ask us about: slurry and digestate application (umbilical or tanker, at 12m, 18m, 20m or 24m), drilling and establishment (from deep cultivation to direct drilling and broadcasting), crop spraying and fertiliser application (with widths up to 36m on bagged fertiliser), and self-operated machinery hire for farmers and businesses who have their own operator and tractor.

If you’re after a piece of kit and an operator, that’s contracting. If you’ve got the operator and just need the machine, that’s hire. We’ll point you the right way on the day.

Careers at FJ Bosworth & Sons

We’re also using the show to talk about career opportunities with FJ Bosworth & Sons. We’ve got people on the farm who joined as school leavers and are still with us 25 years later, and we’re always interested in meeting good operators, mechanics, and people who want to build a career in agriculture.

If you’re thinking about your next step, or you know someone who is, come and have a chat. No appointment needed.
